Lexi’s story

Meet Lexi! She is a Shiba Inu who will be turning 18 this Summer. She has led a life full of lots of love and lots of peanut butter! The first day we brought her sister Jules (15) home from the hospital, Lexi kept watch right next to her bassinet. Since then, Lexi’s endured countless pats, pulled fur, and table scraps from Jules, Louie (13) and Avery (7).

Lexi no longer jumps up on the edge of the table, but still insists on waiting until our dinner is done, before eating her meal to make sure she doesn’t miss out on table scraps. Her nose may not work quite like it used to, but it still twitches at the smell of cheese or peanut butter. Her hearing may not be what it once was, and her naps outnumber her zoomies by a wide margin, but the love she has for her siblings remains untouched.

Even though she no longer jumps on couches or bounds up and down the stairs, she still mosies over to where the family is hanging out and likes her doggy bed to be in the middle of the action. Lexi has lived a full life and has no idea the joy and laughs she’s brought to our lives.
