Certified Veterinary Technician

  • Bergen & Rockland Counties
  • Per-Diem
  • Posted Jun 25, 2026

Job Summary

Our technicians are the steady hands and warm hearts of every visit. You will assist veterinarians during in-home appointments — setting up, comforting pets, supporting treatments and acupuncture sessions, and helping families feel at ease before, during, and after each visit.

Between visits you will help coordinate care plans, follow up with families, and keep our mobile equipment ready and organized.

Education

Graduate of an AVMA-accredited veterinary technology program with an active credential (CVT/RVT/LVT) in good standing.

Additional Educational Requirements

Certification as a Hospice and Palliative Care Technician (CHPT) through the IAAHPC is a wonderful plus. If you are working toward it, we will support your continuing education along the way.

Experience

Two or more years of clinical experience as a credentialed technician. Experience with senior patients, low-stress handling, or end-of-life care is especially valuable.

Qualifications

Gentle, confident animal handling; genuine empathy for grieving families; excellent organization; and a valid driver’s license with reliable transportation. You should feel at home working in unpredictable, real-world home environments with grace.

Criminal Background Checks

Because our team works inside clients’ homes, all offers are contingent on a satisfactory criminal background check and driving record review, conducted in accordance with applicable law.

Physical Demands

Regular kneeling and floor-level work with patients, lifting and carrying up to 40 lbs, and driving between home visits throughout the service area.
